3 Game Reviews w/ Response

Hmm... that's a though one.

I liked the platformer/RPG mix, it adds on to it a bit.. I got to the part where you learn how to use the delta. Fact is, I got bored after.

There are quite a few issues with the game.

Firstly, the controls. I swear I failed at least 4 double jumps out of 5. My timing was right but it seems the game wouldn't pick up my strokes. That kinda ruined it for me.

Second, the gameplay. It was extremely difficult to finish some bits in what I played. I had a hard time getting on the rock to get up for instance.

I was also slightly confused by the menu. Why can't you use your keyboard like in the rest of the game? I also couldn't find a way to save my progress. When I came back to my file, nothing was there. Boohoo. So I restarted.

I noticed you couldn't skip cutscenes without pressing the spacebar like a madman. That's something you'll want to allow!

That's probably all that I had to say. Most of the issues here are minor but combined really affect the whole experience. Aside from that, graphics were nice and fluid. I laughed at the little joke inside the house, too, pretty clever haha ;)

I also liked the way you allow people to choose between the arrow keys and the WASD scheme. This way everyone can play how they want, even lefties!

The game is nice but needs polish. Looking out to see more in the future.

You have to complete at least one level for it to save which levels you completed.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't get the point of the game.
There is no indication whatsoever of what you should do. What's the objective? How do you play? How do you know you're not doing something wrong?
It's just a black screen with words popping up and a bar going up and down, with a background with lots of white little dots. I don't get it.

Besides, I'm sure your submission violates copyright as it contains songs by artists which you probably haven't got permission to use. Word of advice, don't upload submissions with copyrighted content you don't have permission to.

ReDecKon responds:

Yes this is my first submission, could've went with royal free but i chose an alternative. Music is slightly modified by me, and lyrics are typed out and edited by me for charting,(I dont see a violation, nor intend to)

I'm still feeling out the rough edges of this type of game, posted this early for feedback, so Thankyou very much! Expect updates in the future.

Great idea :O

This is purely great. I mean, inverted controls with easy (yet challenging because of the controls being inverted) levels, this is awesome!

-0.5 for graphics, could've been better.
-0.5 for kind of bad programming: if you leave all three unpressed, weird things start happening. The little robot is completely lost. Physics could be slightly improved too.

All I had to say! :)
Great game! :)
4/5

EvilScotsman responds:

The robot is supposed to spaz out when you leave them unpressed. That's the idea. You have to hold down the controls to control him, then only unpress the ones you want to move. Can you elaborate on the physics?

Thank you :3
